Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Okolona, along with efforts from Tinora schools and other churches collect and purchase items to give to needy families in Defiance and Henry counties at Christmas time. Families receive food, clothing, toys and other items. Applications are available in October for families in need.
This is an informal group open to all women of Bethlehem. We do funeral lunches; assemble personal care kits for Lutheran World Relief; and make comforters for local and global needs.
Bethlehem’s Women of the Church organization is part of the Maumee Valley Conference of the Northwest Ohio Synodical Women’s Organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
An offshoot of the Women of the ELCA is the Lydia Mission Circle which meets monthly for Bible study, sponsors two children in India, bakes communion bread, and sends birthday cards to residents of the Filling Home in Napoleon.
Bethlehem participates in a yearly Mission Festival Sunday. Partnered with two area churches, this outdoor worship service is focused on mission. A speaker is chosen each year to share their story of Christ at work in their mission. There have been speakers from local causes, such as Cherry Street Mission and ALT learning center in Toledo. There have also been speakers that have traveled the globe to share the Good News.

- August 19th – St. Paul Napoleon Township
Bethlehem is part of the Northwest Ohio Lutheran Dartball League which is made up of teams from ten churches in the area. It provides for an evening of friendly fun and fellowship with men of faith. The season runs from September until March with a tournament closing out the season. Rod Bostelman is captain of Bethlehem’s team.
